Djokovic has withdrawn from the first Masters 1000 event of the US hard-court swing. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/opinion\/jannik-sinner-and-novak-djokovic-have-just-handed-the-rest-of-the-atp-tour-a-big-opportunity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Djokovic pulled out of the Canadian Open<\/a> along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jack-draper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Draper<\/a>, as the Serb recovers from the groin injury he sustained in his quarter-final clash with Flavio Cobolli at the All England Club.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old has made it clear that the main focus in the twilight of his career is competing at Grand Slam events, and as such, he\u2019ll want to be fully fit heading into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/us-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As his pursuit of a record-breaking 25th major title goes on, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Djokovic<\/a> continues to write history and has just achieved a feat only ImagesNovak Djokovic joins an exclusive club in ATP rankings milestone<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic has now been inside the world\u2019s top 10 for a total of 900 weeks over the course of his legendary career. <\/p>\n<p>He becomes the third player in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> rankings history to reach the milestone, following his old rivals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/roger-federer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roger Federer<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/rafael-nadal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rafael Nadal<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Djokovic\u2019s weeks in the top 10: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>World number one \u2013 428 weeks<\/li>\n<li>World number two \u2013 171 weeks<\/li>\n<li>World number three \u2013 157 weeks<\/li>\n<li>World number four \u2013 40 weeks<\/li>\n<li>World number five \u2013 29 weeks<\/li>\n<li>World number six to 10 \u2013 75 weeks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 24-time Grand Slam champion has spent over half of the 900 weeks at world number one, tallying 428 weeks at the top spot, an all-time record. <\/p>\n<p>Until the end of the year, he only has 750 points to defend, meaning he can easily improve his current ranking of world Slam events this year, Djokovic has enjoyed a number of landmark occasions in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>At the Geneva Open in May, he won his 100th ATP title after defeating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/hubert-hurkacz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hubert Hurkacz<\/a> in the final, becoming the third man in the Open Era to earn a century of tour-level crowns, after Federer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jimmy-connors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jimmy Connors<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>He also clinched his 100th career win at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and needs just one more victory in Melbourne to do the same at the Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic will now have his sights set on the US Open, which
