Credit: Instagram / safoodbank

The San Antonio Food Bank has brought back its version of Restaurant Weeks for a second consecutive year, officials with the nonprofit said Tuesday.

The latest installment of San Antonio Food Bank Restaurant Weeks will run Saturday, June 6 through Saturday, June 20. The theme? Farm-to-table.

Each participating Alamo City-area restaurant will create a signature dish based on seasonal harvest ingredients. In turn, $1 from each sale of the special will go directly to the Food Bank’s Summer Meals for Kids initiative, which feeds local youths during a time when families don’t have access to free or discount school lunches.

Each dollar donated to the program helps provide seven meals for hungry kids in need, according to Food Bank officials.

“We are bringing it back this year because the need is still there, and we will never stop working to make a difference. This campaign plays a vital role in supporting our Summer Meals for Kids initiative and helping ensure no child goes without a meal during the summer months,” San Antonio Food Bank President and CEO Eric Cooper said in a statement.

This year’s participating restaurants include Naco Mexican Eatery, Anacacho Coffee & Cantina, Barbaro, Boiler House, Clementine, The Jerk Shack and more. A full list of participating restaurants and their menus is available on the San Antonio Food Bank website.

The San Antonio Food Bank Restaurant Weeks event should not to be confused with Culinaria’s Restaurant Weeks, which operate as a separate fundraising culinary event.

<a href="https://www.sacurrent.com/sanantonio/NewsletterSignup/Page" rel="nofollow noopener"
