Hundreds of pro-Israel supporters swarmed Gracie Mansion to protest Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday night \u2013 with many calling for his resignation and outright deportation for failing to combat antisemitism and extremism. <\/p>\n
The \u201cProtest Zohran Mamdani\u201d demonstration, held just one block away from Gracie Mansion, drew upwards of 300 staunch Israel supporters from across the tri-state area.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A smaller \u201cThank you, Mayor Mamdani\u201d counterprotest organized by Voice of Rabbis was stationed on the opposite end of the street.<\/p>\n

Mamdani\u2019s critics co-opted rally cries reminiscent of those at anti-Israel protests like, \u201cZohran, Zohran, you can\u2019t hide, we charge you with hate and lies\u201d and \u201cFrom the river to the sea, New York City will be free.\u201d<\/p>\n
Corey Cohen, a 32-year-old descendant of Holocaust survivors, choked up while describing the fear he feels daily as a Jewish Zionist while strangers brand his people as \u201cmonsters.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf people are telling me that I can\u2019t speak Hebrew because I might get attacked, then, Zohran, what are we doing here? But people are not getting attacked for speaking Arabic or French or Chinese, so I\u2019ve just \u2026 that\u2019s why I\u2019m crying,\u201d Cohen told The Post.<\/p>\n
Cohen separately condemned the Democratic party\u2019s inaction in the wake of the October 7, 2023, attacks that plunged Israel and Palestine into an all-out war.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI really do think that [Democrats] are for the minority, they\u2019re for human rights, and that\u2019s why my heart is shattered, because [Hamas] violated human rights,\u201d Cohen said.<\/p>\n
Others, though, extended less grace to Hizzoner.<\/p>\n
Adam and Sandy, an elderly Jewish couple from New Jersey, posed with \u201cZohran the Destroyer\u201d posters that had Mamdani\u2019s face plastered over \u201cStar Wars\u201d villain Emperor Palpatine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Adam had one succinct message for the mayor: \u201cQuit.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Alison, a 25-year-old Brooklynite, also called on Mamdani to \u201cresign\u201d \u2013 and advocated for his deportation. The crowd began chanting \u201cdeport Mamdani\u201d as the protest, hosted by the #EndJewHatred Movement, fizzled out.<\/p>\n
Mamdani was born in Uganda and became a naturalized American citizen in 2018.<\/p>\n
