{"id":825346,"date":"2026-05-27T10:49:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T10:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/825346\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T10:49:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T10:49:26","slug":"sharia-blm-posts-derail-principal-appointment-in-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/825346\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharia, BLM Posts Derail Principal Appointment In Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                                    A Black Lives Matter image shown in screenshots tied to Shayma Alzubi\u2019s Facebook account appears next to Alzubi\u2019s Fort Worth ISD staff photo | Images via Facebook and Fort Worth ISD                                <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"85\" data-end=\"307\">Fort Worth ISD said Tuesday that Shayma Alzubi will be reassigned pending an investigation after The Dallas Express <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasexpress.com\/tarrant\/fwisd-principal-pick-faces-tea-investigation-call-over-sharia-blm-posts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> on social media posts tied to her Facebook account and requested comment from the district.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"309\" data-end=\"409\">The district had previously announced Alzubi as the next principal of Western Hills High School.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"411\" data-end=\"897\">\u201cToday, May 26th, Fort Worth ISD was made aware of multiple social media posts from the past by a finalist for a principal position in the district,\u201d FWISD Communications told The Dallas Express. \u201cAfter review, it was determined that the posts may not align with the district\u2019s social media policy and expectations for staff. Therefore, the candidate will be reassigned pending the outcome of an investigation. As such, the district will not comment further on an open investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"1023\">In the earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100064921620157\/posts\/1403896025117772\/?fs=e&amp;mibextid=wwXIfr&amp;rdid=qhrJ54VNhP0mBut5#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a>, FWISD said, \u201cMs. Shayma Alzubi has been named the new principal for Western Hills High School.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>District Cites Policy, Classroom Neutrality<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1598\">FWISD said the posts may not align with district policy and said it remains focused on politically neutral instruction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1600\" data-end=\"1847\">\u201cFort Worth ISD is in full compliance with state law and per statute TEC 28.0022, FWISD administration ensures that all issues of public policy or social affairs be explored objectively and in a manner free from political bias,\u201d the district said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1849\" data-end=\"1944\">The district also said staff members should not bring personal political views into classrooms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1946\" data-end=\"2318\">\u201cOur district leaders, educators and staff will not inject personal political perspectives into classrooms,\u201d FWISD said. \u201cFort Worth ISD serves a wide array of families and students that are civically engaged and maintain a variety of perspectives. As a taxpayer funded entity, we will remain focused on our mission of providing a high quality education for all students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Posts Sparked Backlash<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2348\" data-end=\"2554\">As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasexpress.com\/tarrant\/fwisd-principal-pick-faces-tea-investigation-call-over-sharia-blm-posts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> by The Dallas Express, screenshots circulated online showing posts tied to Alzubi\u2019s Facebook account involving Sharia, Black Lives Matter, DACA, Palestine, and school mask mandates.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2556\" data-end=\"2663\">One January 23 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/carlos__turcios\/status\/2059112198106956237?s=46&amp;t=d1ULzLjMo-mOpSQvz1w50w\" rel=\"nofollow\">repost<\/a> from Texas Reporter defended Sharia and pushed back on \u201cDON\u2019T SHARIA MY TEXAS\u201d posts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2665\" data-end=\"2827\">The post described Sharia as \u201ca moral and religious framework\u201d in Islam and compared it to \u201cbiblical principles\u201d for Christians and Halakha in Jewish communities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2829\" data-end=\"3002\">Other screenshots from the account showed a black image reading \u201cBLACK LIVES MATTER,\u201d a post stating \u201cI am #WithDreamers I SUPPORT DACA,\u201d and an image referencing Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>State Official Sought Investigation<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3045\" data-end=\"3268\">State Board of Education member Julie Pickren called on the Texas Education Agency to investigate Alzubi and Steve Lecholop, TEA\u2019s deputy commissioner of school governance, who oversees the Fort Worth ISD Board of Managers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3270\" data-end=\"3512\">Pickren <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/julie4tx\/status\/2059335290641113224?s=46\" rel=\"nofollow\">wrote<\/a> on X that she was calling on TEA to investigate Alzubi for alleged violations of the Texas Code of Ethics for administrators. She also asked for an investigation into Lecholop\u2019s oversight of the Fort Worth ISD Board of Managers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3514\" data-end=\"3598\">Brandon Hall also criticized the appointment in a statement to The Dallas Express.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3600\" data-end=\"3791\">\u201cSchool leaders should be held to a higher standard and should be focused on education, not left-wing and Islamist activism.
