Little York Road in Houston\n    <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The filing proposes a 99K SF Mi Tienda store at 7140 Southwest Freeway to open around March 2028, <a href=\"https:\/\/realtynewsreport.com\/h-e-b-plans-sharpstown-store\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to Realty News Report<\/a>, though such filings are often preliminary and subject to change.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mi Tienda is the San Antonio-based H-E-B\u2019s Latino-focused grocery store. The proposed new location would be its third. The first Mi Tienda opened in the Pasadena area in 2006, and the second opened in Northeast Houston in 2011, per Realty News Report.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The new Mi Tienda store would add to <a class=\"tag tag-156335\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/houston\/news\/retail\/plazamericas-mall-in-southwest-houston-changes-hands-96329\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"156335\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PlazAmericas Mall<\/a>, the 850K SF <a class=\"tag tag-737\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/baker-katz\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"737\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Baker Katz<\/a>-owned marketplace and shopping center formerly known as Sharpstown Mall. The filing indicates\u00a0construction will start in February and cost about $24M.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Meanwhile, H-E-B <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/business\/real-estate\/article\/heb-east-end-site-under-contract-22270969.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">confirmed to the Houston Chronicle<\/a>\u00a0it is under contract for a 6-acre site near 2600 Canal St. in Houston\u2019s <a class=\"tag tag-32822\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/east-end\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"32822\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">East End<\/a>, though the company said it does not have specific plans for the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It is working through the due diligence process, though, and looking for growth opportunities throughout the Houston area.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">H-E-B now operates 455 stores throughout Texas and Mexico under the H-E-B, Central Market, Mi Tienda and Joe V\u2019s Smart Shop brands.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The chain\u2019s arrival in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2022 set off a chain reaction, with stores now in or planned for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/dallas-ft-worth\/news\/retail\/h-e-b-announces-plans-for-first-store-in-dallas-127585\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">well over a dozen suburbs<\/a>, plus North Dallas. H-E-B also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2026\/01\/06\/h-e-b-confirms-second-location-coming-lubbock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">confirmed in January<\/a>\u00a0it plans to open a second store in Lubbock.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.heb.com\/h-e-b-announces-plans-to-invest-700-million-to-expand-its-supply-chain-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">company announced<\/a> it would invest $700M to expand its supply chain operations, creating 720 jobs by 2028 and more than 1,200 full-time jobs over the next decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The chain is also shuttering at least one store.
