Two F-16 aircraft were scrambled and the pilots were \u201cauthorized to engage targets throughout the alert,\u201d its statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry described the situation as \u201cdynamic.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Last month, two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/british-jets-scrambled-as-russian-drone-debris-crashes-on-romanian-territory\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/british-jets-scrambled-as-russian-drone-debris-crashes-on-romanian-territory\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">British aircraft were scrambled<\/a> after Russian drones approached Romanian airspace from Ukraine, though they didn\u2019t shoot because the drones did not breach the border.
