{"id":829745,"date":"2026-05-29T09:22:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/829745\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T09:22:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:22:15","slug":"watch-rage-against-the-machine-system-of-a-down-members-unite-on-their-new-protest-anthem-adjourn-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/829745\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Rage Against The Machine &#038; System Of A Down Members Unite On Their New Protest Anthem &#8220;ADJOURN IT&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c<strong>ADJOURN IT<\/strong>\u201c, a brand new track uniting <strong>Rage Against The Machine<\/strong> guitarist <strong>Tom Morello<\/strong>, <strong>System Of A Down<\/strong> vocalist <strong>Serj Tankian<\/strong>, and <strong>Tom<\/strong>\u2018s teenage son <strong>Roman Morello<\/strong>, has newly debuted online. <strong>Morello<\/strong> and <strong>Tankian<\/strong> have long been compatriots, forming the <strong>Axis Of Justice<\/strong> non-profit back in 2002 to raise awareness for social justice causes and to combat racism in the rock and metal communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morello<\/strong> previously described this new collaborative single as being inspired by, \u201cThe persecution of immigrants across the land and the counterforce of a heroic resistance to the rising tide of fascism.<strong> ADJOURN IT<\/strong> is a \u2018Freedom Song\u2019 of crushing riffs for justice and equality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The below newly debuted music video for this pairing featuring the two politically outspoken musician\/activists came with the following additional context regarding the clip and its visual component:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u2018Clips from the film <strong>SALT OF THE EARTH<\/strong> (1954) are woven throughout the \u201c<strong>ADJOURN IT<\/strong>\u201d video to reflect the song\u2019s theme of resistance in the face of prejudice and injustice. The film is based on a true story of Mexican-American miners fighting against labor exploitation, racism, and institutional oppression, and was made by three Hollywood executives blacklisted for their political beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>It stars real zinc miners and was one of the first ever truly independent films. <strong>SALT OF THE EARTH<\/strong> was a powerful act of defiance in its time and more than half a century later, its themes continue to echo through today\u2019s political climate. \u201c<strong>ADJOURN IT<\/strong>\u201d channels the defiant legacy of the film reinforcing the importance of solidarity in bringing people together against fear and division.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>All three of the above musicians are scheduled to hit the stage at <strong>Tom<\/strong>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theprp.com\/2026\/05\/27\/news\/tom-morello-recruits-bruce-springsteen-foo-fighters-dave-matthews-serj-tankian-more-for-power-to-the-people-festival\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">newly announced \u2018<strong>Power To The People<\/strong>\u2018 festival<\/a>, which will be held October 03rd at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.
