While there weren\u2019t a ton of big contracts handed out, former Los Angeles Kings left wing <a href=\"https:\/\/nesn.com\/2025\/07\/bruins-sign-tanner-jeannot-five-year-contract\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tanner Jeannot cashed in<\/a> with a five-year, $17 million deal.<\/p>\n<p>After going undrafted in the 2018 NHL Draft, Jeannot eventually latched on with the Nashville Predators in 2021, before spending time with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Kings. Last season, Jeannot tallied seven goals and six assists in 67 games with L.A.<\/p>\n<p>While Jeannot\u2019s numbers don\u2019t jump off the page, he did score 24 goals back in the 2021-22 season with the Predators, and his <a href=\"https:\/\/nesn.com\/2025\/07\/nhl-insider-details-bruins-motivation-for-signing-tanner-jeannot\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gritty style of play<\/a> makes him a perfect fit in Boston. In fact, that\u2019s one of the main reasons why Jeannot <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NHLNetwork\/status\/1947386097497215139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">opted to sign<\/a> with the Bruins in free agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrowing up, watching the teams that they had, they kind of embody the style that I like to try to bring each and every night,\u201d Jeannot said of his decision to sign with the B\u2019s on \u201cNHL Tonight.\u201d \u201cI just thought that my style of game and the player I am could really go into an organization like that and have some success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The addition of Jeannot figures to help the B\u2019s strengthen their bottom-six forward group, which will help take some of the pressure off Boston\u2019s top lines. Even if Jeannot isn\u2019t racking up points on a nightly basis, his ability to make life tough for whoever he\u2019s going up against is precisely what the Bruins are looking for.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>There were several things that didn\u2019t go Boston\u2019s way last season, so the team is looking to get back to the basics.
