Actress Sydney Sweeney<\/a><\/strong>, known for roles in well-known projects like Euphoria<\/a> and The White Lotus<\/a>, is trying out something completely new as she plays real-life boxer Christy Martin<\/strong> in an upcoming biopic.<\/p>\n

In an official new photo from the film, Sweeney’s bold transformation was on full display, as the actress looked practically unrecognizable while in character as the talented athlete. Martin is a former professional boxer with a very successful career, particularly in the late 1990s, bringing widespread attention to women’s boxing.<\/p>\n

The new still shows Sweeney as Martin in the middle of a boxing ring, boxing gloves on and mouthguard in. She wore a white tank top and shorts, with her hair dark brown and curly. Sweeney’s facial expression was fierce, with her character likely in the middle of a match or training.<\/p>\n

Fans were thrown by the image, completely stunned by Sweeney’s physical transformation.<\/p>\n

“Now this is versatility,” commented one fan, as someone else wrote in reaction to the photo, “this transformation is akin to Charlize Theron<\/strong> in Monster,” comparing Sweeney’s transformation to Theron in her 2003 role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Others chimed in with their thoughts, with replies like, “loving seeing her do something different,” “Talk about a total transformation! I barely recognize her!” and “Did not see this coming.”<\/p>\n
