{"id":830386,"date":"2026-05-29T16:01:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T16:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/830386\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T16:01:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T16:01:18","slug":"ryan-reynolds-hugh-jackman-making-sailing-docuseries-for-disney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/830386\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman Making Sailing Docuseries For Disney+"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ryan-reynolds\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ryan-reynolds\" data-tag=\"ryan-reynolds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Reynolds<\/a> doesn\u2019t only do acting and soccer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/welcome-to-wrexham\/\" id=\"auto-tag_welcome-to-wrexham\" data-tag=\"welcome-to-wrexham\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Welcome to Wrexham<\/a> chief and Hollywood star is now leading a docuseries about the SailGP team he co-owns with Deadpool &amp; Wolverine co-star <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hugh-jackman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hugh-jackman\" data-tag=\"hugh-jackman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hugh Jackman<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe docuseries about the BONDS Flying Roos team will see Australia\u2019s fastest sailors travel the globe to face elite rivals while onboarding their world-famous owners, led on the water by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby, one of the most decorated sailors in history.\u00a0The global racing season is defined by\u00a0speed\u00a0\u2013\u00a0a stadium-style championship where identical 50-foot catamarans race in close-to-shore courses at speeds of up to 100 km\/h.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tJackman and Reynolds last collaborated on Deadpool &amp; Wolverine but reunited to buy the SailGP team and now come together again for the docuseries. Reynolds is of course no stranger to a <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/disney\/\" id=\"auto-tag_disney\" data-tag=\"disney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disney<\/a> doc. The FX cameras have been following his co-owned soccer team Wrexham in Wales for five seasons so far. Wrexham co-chairman and Welcome to Wrexham EP Rob Mac will serve as EP of the untitled <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/sailing\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sailing\" data-tag=\"sailing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sailing<\/a> docuseries through his More Better Productions banner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLast year, Reynolds\u2019 Maximum Effort production house, which is making the sailing docuseries, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/03\/ryan-reynolds-maximum-effort-deal-20th-television-1236352395\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">struck a first look deal at 20th Television. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThis is our first collaboration since Deadpool &amp;\u00a0Wolverine\u00a0and we once again\u00a0anticipate\u00a0action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water. We hope there\u2019s pirates in SailGP,\u201d\u00a0said Jackman and Reynolds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe untitled\u00a0docuseries\u00a0for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/disney-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_disney-2\" data-tag=\"disney-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disney+<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0an Australian original\u00a0produced by Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions in partnership with SailGP and the BONDS Flying\u00a0Roos\u00a0team, with Brent Hodge serving as director and showrunner.\u00a0The\u00a0new docuseries will be available exclusively\u00a0on\u00a0Disney+ internationally and on\u00a0Disney+ and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hulu\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hulu\" data-tag=\"hulu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hulu<\/a> in the U.S.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ryan Reynolds doesn\u2019t only do acting and soccer.
