Update #2 (2:48\u00a0p.m.)<\/strong>: City police say they have a suspect in custody in relation to Friday’s homicide in downtown Barrie.\u00a0<\/p>\n Shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, police say they arrested 29-year-old Justin Harris\u00a0in the area of Toronto Street and Dunlop Street West.\u00a0<\/p>\n Police say the suspect had been\u00a0seen “interacting” with the victim in the area before police were contacted shortly before noon.<\/p>\n *************************<\/p>\n Update #1 (1:58\u00a0p.m.)<\/strong>: Barrie police have confirmed they are investigating a homicide today following a\u00a0stabbing near the Five Points.\u00a0<\/p>\n Police say they are looking for 29-year-old\u00a0Justin Harris\u00a0in relation to a homicide that took place in the area of Bayfield Street and Dunlop Street West on Friday morning.<\/p>\n Police had\u00a0initially referred to Harris as a “person of interest,” but are now calling him a “suspect” in the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n At 11:30 a.m., police say officers were called about an\u00a0injured male lying on the ground in the area of Bayfield Street and Dunlop Street West.<\/p>\n When police arrived, it was determined that the victim had suffered a stab wound, police say.<\/p>\n The 36-year-old Barrie man was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n Police say Harris was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black track pants, blue shoes and a black backpack.
