Resorts World New York City in Jamaica, Queens has announced a $5.5 billion plan to become New York<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s largest integrated resort (IR).<\/p>\n

The project, due to open from July 2026, would transform the 73-acre Aqueduct site into a 5.6 million-square-foot integrated resort and entertainment hub.<\/p>\n

This would allow for 6,000 slot machines, 800 gaming tables, 2,000 hotel rooms, a 7,000-seat arena, more than 30 F&B outlets, a spa, and more than 12 acres of public green<\/a><\/strong> space. <\/p>\n

Also, the development would create up to 24,000 jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars of tax revenue for the state.<\/p>\n

All land-use approvals have already been granted to Resorts World New York, with construction to begin as soon as the company receives a license.<\/p>\n

Robert DeSalvio<\/strong>, president of Genting Americas East, said the project \u201cwill be a game-changer for this borough, the city, and the state\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cSince Resorts World was granted operations of the Aqueduct site in 2010, we have sought to be a neighbor that\u00a0Queens\u00a0deserves, providing 1,000 good union jobs, invested millions of dollars into our neighbors, and built everlasting bonds with the community. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut we also made them a promise to do more in every sense of the term, and today\u2019s proposal<\/a><\/strong> lays out just how we will.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief legal and strategy officer\u00a0at Resorts World New York City, Kevin Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0said: \u201cWhen it comes to completion and operational risk, Resorts World New York City stands uniquely as almost risk-free.\u201d<\/p>\n

Resorts World New York City is operated by the Genting Group<\/a><\/strong>, which also offers destination resorts in the Catskills,\u00a0Hudson Valley,\u00a0Las Vegas, Bimini,\u00a0Malaysia,\u00a0Singapore, and the UK.<\/p>\n

Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore is currently working on a $5bn expansion, which includes two new luxury hotels, as well as\u00a0new experiences at Universal Studios Singapore, and the new Singapore Oceanarium<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
