(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmtv15news.com\/2026\/05\/30\/flight-diverted-dane-county-regional-airport-after-unruly-passenger-detained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wmtv15news.com\/2026\/05\/30\/flight-diverted-dane-county-regional-airport-after-unruly-passenger-detained\/\">WMTV<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; Authorities said an unruly passenger was detained and taken into custody after a United Airlines flight was diverted to Wisconsin Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The United Airlines flight from Chicago O\u2019Hare International Airport to Minneapolis was diverted to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison due to the apparent unruly passenger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Law enforcement restrained and handcuffed the passenger, and no other passengers were hurt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A Dane County Regional Airport spokesperson said the plane landed safely. Dane County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies met the plane, removed the passenger and took the unidentified individual into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Federal authorities are taking over the investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dane County Regional Airport said flight operations were resuming.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WMTV via Gray Local Media, Inc.
