A spokesperson for Clive told TMZ<\/a> that the famed music executive and record producer was admitted to a New York City hospital Friday evening.<\/p>\n He is reportedly suffering from an upper respiratory infection and was admitted to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.<\/p>\n He is expected to be released after 24 hours. As the former president of Columbia Records and the founder of both Arista Records and J Records, he was instrumental in launching and guiding the careers of legends including Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Janis Joplin, and Alicia Keys.<\/p>\n This marks another health challenge for Davis in recent years. In February 2021, he postponed his annual pre-Grammy gala after being diagnosed with Bell\u2019s palsy.
