Michael Nagle<\/p>\n<p>A third voter, 87-year-old William Allen, also said that despite not casting a ballot in the primary, he had received a \u201ccure notice,\u201d which voters get when their ballots contain errors like a missing signature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese apparent facts really call for a district attorney investigation,\u201d election lawyer Martin Connor said. \u201cThey need to find out how someone other than the voter was able to obtain and submit the absentee ballots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sarantopoulous is currently leading Barsamian <a href=\"https:\/\/enr.boenyc.gov\/CD270740.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by a mere 32 votes<\/a>, according to the Board of Elections\u2019 latest unofficial tallies.<\/p>\n<p>Sarantopoulous is currently leading Barsamian by a mere 32 votes. Facebook\/ George Sarantopoulous<\/p>\n<p>A recount is being held Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Linda Smith, Garzaniti\u2019s daughter, was completely dismayed when she learned of the bizarre circumstances, while confirming with The Post that her mother had passed away. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is amazing,\u201d she said. \u201cI find this unbelievable. Yes, we still got ballots for her. They were ripped up and thrown out. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I want to know, who is doing it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Linda Smith, Garzaniti\u2019s daughter, was completely dismayed when she learned of the bizarre circumstances. Michael Nagle<\/p>\n<p>Attempts to reach Windvan\u2019s family were unsuccessful, but Social Security records indicate that she died in 2007.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Justin Allen and his father, William, said they tore up the dad\u2019s absentee ballot when it arrived in the mail because although he is a registered Republican, he usually votes Democratic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s terrible that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/29\/us-news\/long-island-man-busted-for-voter-fraud-by-using-anothers-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">somebody cast a ballot in my father\u2019s name<\/a>, especially in an election that was so close and that whoever committed fraud, would have been a fraud getting elected,\u201d Justin Allen said.<\/p>\n<p>A third voter said that despite not casting a ballot in the primary, he had received a \u201ccure notice,\u201d which voters get when their ballots contain errors like a missing signature. Ribeiro for New York Post<\/p>\n<p>Sarantopolous called the matter \u201cshocking and concerning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even so, voter fraud is still considered rare in the Big Apple and across the US, according to John Kaehny, executive director of watchdog group Reinvent Albany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to get away with, and very easy to detect if done in a big enough way to affect an election,\u201d Kaehny added. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t stop various knuckleheads from trying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Councilman Justin Brannan, a Brooklyn Democrat who is term-limited out of the seat at year\u2019s end, called for the matter to be immediately probed.<\/p>\n<p>Obituary for Antoinette Garzaniti.
