Relatively mild humidity will keep the heat index from jumping significantly, with a maximum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2024\/05\/24\/what-is-heat-index-and-why-does-it-matter-in-dallas-fort-worth-as-summer-approaches\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2024\/05\/24\/what-is-heat-index-and-why-does-it-matter-in-dallas-fort-worth-as-summer-approaches\/\">\u201cfeels like\u201d temperature<\/a> projection of 99 degrees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The afternoon will also possibly be quite windy, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Nearly identical conditions are forecast for Wednesday before more heat moves in Thursday. The temperature is expected to jump up a few degrees to 100, the first occurrence of triple digits this year in the metro area.
