County ballot measure<\/p>\n<p>The half-cent sales tax on the ballot would go to prop up local hospitals and clinics. Backers say it\u2019s necessary after President Trump\u2019s Big Beautiful bill is set to <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/file.lacounty.gov\/SDSInter\/lac\/1202661_EssentialServicesRestorationActforLosAngelesCountyGeneralSalesTaxMeasureFAQ_FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">slash<\/a> more than $2 billion from the county\u2019s budget for health services over the next three years.
