{"id":835140,"date":"2026-05-31T18:37:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T18:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/835140\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T18:37:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T18:37:37","slug":"fawn-intentionally-hit-near-moorman-park-euthanized-due-to-injuries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/835140\/","title":{"rendered":"Fawn intentionally hit near Moorman park, euthanized due to injuries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">QUINCY (WGEM) &#8211; A fawn was intentionally hit by a car Thursday night near Moorman park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">According to the Adams County Sheriff\u2019s Office, officers responded to the park on Friday morning for an injured fawn laying in the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Deputies said the fawn had a broken leg and a few minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The Adams County Animal Warden responded to the scene and transported it to a local veterinarian where it was later euthanized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">While deputies were on scene, a witness informed them a white sedan driven by a teen was leaving Moorman park and intentionally hit the fawn as it was following its mother while they crossed the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The Adams County Sheriff\u2019s Office wants to remind residents that it is illegal to intentionally harm wildlife in Illinois. It can result in fines, criminal charges, and loss of hunting\/fishing rights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Anyone with information on the incident should contact the sheriff\u2019s department at 217-277-2200<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WGEM.
