{"id":835320,"date":"2026-05-31T20:42:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T20:42:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/835320\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T20:42:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T20:42:16","slug":"man-accused-of-driving-drunk-falling-asleep-in-middle-of-phoenix-freeway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/835320\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of driving drunk, falling asleep in middle of Phoenix freeway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A man is accused of driving drunk and falling asleep while his car sat in the middle of Interstate 10 in east Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The Arizona Department of Public Safety says troopers got several calls on May 25 about a car stopped on I-10 between 32nd and 40th streets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Troopers arrived and found the driver asleep behind the wheel with the car still in drive. Troopers stopped traffic, boxed the car in, woke the man up and took him into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DPS says troopers saw an open container of alcohol in the center console and more alcohol on the passenger-side floorboard. They also said the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled like alcohol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Photos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AZDPSHighwayPatrol\/posts\/pfbid02piwa4D9ZBvgYQECTxHydx7MeHBCcxVK8FoPmEn2AypsTHwhnwEKR9FbCNo8t9rLMl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AZDPSHighwayPatrol\/posts\/pfbid02piwa4D9ZBvgYQECTxHydx7MeHBCcxVK8FoPmEn2AypsTHwhnwEKR9FbCNo8t9rLMl\">shared by DPS<\/a> showed an empty can of Voodoo Ranger IPA and two vodka shooters. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Troopers say a man drove drunk, then fell asleep with his car stopped in the middle of I-10 in...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/CYTCPCCKSZE5ZOU7CP36BIW4LU.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Troopers say a man drove drunk, then fell asleep with his car stopped in the middle of I-10 in east Phoenix.(Arizona Department of Public Safety)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The man agreed to field sobriety tests, and troopers said the results showed he was impaired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A records check showed the man\u2019s driver\u2019s license was suspended because of a DUI earlier this year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The man was arrested and booked into jail.
