Ian Lithgow opened in \u201cThe People Versus Lenny Bruce<\/a>\u201d on May 14, but his father John Lithgow still hasn\u2019t seen the Off Broadway play.<\/p>\n

John is starring nearby at the Music Box Theater as Roald Dahl in \u201cGiant,\u201d<\/a> but according to Ian, he doesn\u2019t like the way he is depicted in the memoir by Ian\u2019s ex-wife Rachel Lithgow, titled \u201cMy Year of Really Bad Dates.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one is spared. Rachel warned me in advance,\u201d Ian told me. \u201cIf this is the story she wants to tell, that\u2019s her prerogative.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is one of the rare occasions where a father and son are simultaneously in shows at the same time, but instead of a celebration, it\u2019s more of a tragedy.<\/p>\n

Rachel\u2019s book depicts her in-laws as angry penny-pinchers who never embraced her or her two children with Ian.<\/p>\n

But Ian is hopeful, calling the rift \u201can opportunity for healing \u2026 We\u2019re working on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

David Zucker, co-creator of the original \u201cThe Naked Gun,\u201d wasn\u2019t impressed with Seth MacFarlane\u2019s remake starring Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On an episode of The SDR Show<\/a> podcast with Ralph Sutton, Zucker, who also co-created \u201cAirplane,\u201d said the remake inspired him to create Master Crash, his online how-to-create-a-spoof classes.<\/p>\n

Zucker appreciates that MacFarlane is a fan, but that doesn\u2019t mean he thinks MacFarlane is capable of doing what he\u2019s done for 40 years \u2014 make funny movies.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe he\u2019ll take my Master Crash and next time he takes away one of my franchises, maybe he\u2019ll do a good job of it,\u201d Zucker said.<\/p>\n

Noel Ashman<\/a> \u2014 the nightclub impresario turned movie producer \u2014 had good advice for students at the School of Visual Arts.<\/p>\n

Ashman was a guest lecturer in Charles Kipps\u2019 film class, following stints by Chris Noth and Holt McCallany.<\/p>\n

Asked by a student how to get into the movie business, Ashman said the prerequisite is \u201cpassion \u2026 it\u2019s infectious. You are going to get rejected 500 times. You have to keep at it 501 times. Keep going. Every successful person has failed. You have to keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ashman has produced 16 movies with the likes of John Travolta, Mickey Rourke, Ice-T and Sylvester Stallone. He had nothing but praise for the actors.<\/p>\n

\u201cOthers were not as easy though,\u201d he laughed.<\/p>\n

Society band leader Alex Donner<\/a> performed his first cabaret show the other night at La Goulue<\/a> since playing Cafe Carlyle 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

Donner regaled the packed restaurant on East 61st Street with stories about growing up on Fifth Avenue to singing in Paris, doing \u201cdivorces during the week as a lawyer and weddings on weekends with the band.\u201d<\/p>\n

The crowd included the restaurant\u2019s owner Jean Denoyer, Marquesa Viuda de San Damian, Marc Rosen and David Patrick Columbia.<\/p>\n

\u201cDonner closed with an encore of his own tune \u2018Black Tie Blues\u2019 before his band enticed everybody onto the dance floor,\u201d reports Hampton Sheet publisher Joan Jedell. \u201cWe hear he\u2019ll be back at La Goulue in the fall.\u201d<\/p>\n

In honor of America\u2019s 250th anniversary, the Museum of Democracy<\/a> is presenting \u201cThe Story of America: 1776-2026, A Celebration of Freedom and Independence\u201d at the Southampton Arts Center.<\/p>\n

The exhibition showcases presidential elections through a collection of rare campaign memorabilia from the Wright Family Collection.<\/p>\n

Items include the flag flown at George Washington\u2019s inauguration at Federal Hall in New York, torches used during parades in the 1850s, and paper dresses worn during campaign rallies in the \u201860s.<\/p>\n

Sharon Bush, who was once married to President George W. Bush\u2019s brother, said, \u201cIt combines my love of American history, which I taught many moons ago, and my background in politics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrities like Jane Fonda, 88, and Kathy Griffin, 65, have been very open about their facelifts.<\/p>\n

Rosie O\u2019Donnell, 64, just confessed<\/a> on Substack, saying, \u201cI used to feel very strongly about facelifts, I thought it was a betrayal of feminism and then I lost 50 pounds. I\u2019m quite pleased with the whole thing, and guess what \u2014 no one has noticed. Not one person. I didn\u2019t disappear, I didn\u2019t become someone else. This is me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Age-defying beauty is no longer reserved for the young stars like Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya, as more women in Hollywood and across the country in their 60s and 70s are opting for surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Boys\u201d star Erin Moriarty<\/a> is celebrating the end of her hit TV series on Amazon Prime after 10 years and five seasons in an unusual way, confessing, \u201cI am not watching the final season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series is about a group of crimefighters trying to take down an evil corporation of superheroes who are abusing their power. Moriarty opened up to Devorah Rose, the editor of Social Life Magazine, about contracting Graves\u2019 disease while filming season five.<\/p>\n

To watch herself, \u201cit would be like reliving it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
