It\u2019s a mixed-use development in the heart of Midtown\u2019s so-called Billionaires\u2019 Row, where the restaurant will take up 7,045 square feet on the ground floor, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/20\/business\/calvary-baptist-churchs-miracle-building-on-west-57th-street-gets-2-new-leases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as first reported by the New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Ten Five\u2019s managing partner, Dan Daley, said via a rep for the building\u2019s developers, \u201cWe\u2019re excited to bring a new concept to this incredibly dynamic part of the city and to contribute to the continued evolution of this iconic corridor,\u201d he wrote, describing it as \u201ca considered and ambitious project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Ten Five\u2019s chief marketing officer, Kim Walker, writes to Eater that there are \u201cno further details to share,\u201d but that the team is \u201cexcited about the new space.\u201d Eater has reached out to Funke to see if he is involved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Ten Five\u2019s first Los Angeles restaurants were coastal Mexican restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2021\/12\/7\/22822685\/kateen-wes-avila-coastal-mexican-yucatan-new-restaurant-tommie-selma-inside-photos-hollywood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ka\u2019teen<\/a> and rooftop bar <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2021\/12\/8\/22824822\/desert-five-spot-hollywood-rooftop-bar-cocktails-opening-news-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Desert 5 Spot<\/a> in 2021, inside the Tommie Hotel. Those were followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/chilledmagazine.com\/bar-lis-brings-the-french-riviera-to-hollywood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bar Lis<\/a> in 2022, and French restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2022\/5\/25\/23141416\/mes-amis-restaurant-hollywood-lincoln-carson-opening-new-photos-inside-feature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mes Amis<\/a> followed in 2022, both in the Thomson Hotel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">But it wasn\u2019t until Ten Five debuted <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2022\/1\/5\/22868869\/mother-wolf-italian-roman-restaurant-new-hollywood-open-photos-evan-funke-inside\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mother Wolf<\/a> in 2022, where Funke <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2021\/9\/8\/22662796\/italian-specialist-evan-funke-to-open-new-roman-restaurant-in-hollywood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">focuses<\/a> on Roman-style Italian cuisine and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rTXo3Htm1IQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">especially his pastas<\/a>, that they had a spot that received outsized culinary attention and celebrity patronage. At the time, Los Angeles Times critic Bill Addison <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/food\/story\/2022-04-21\/mother-wolf-hollywood-review-bill-addison\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">described<\/a> the spaghettone alla gricia as a \u201cpork-besotted masterpiece,\u201d and was taken with \u201call\u2019amatriciana\u2019s potent mix of tomato and guanciale fused onto curving rigatoni.\u201d Building on Mother Wolf\u2019s success, the group expanded with offshoots in <a href=\"https:\/\/miami.eater.com\/2024\/10\/7\/24263005\/mother-wolf-miami-now-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miami<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/vegas.eater.com\/2023\/12\/13\/24000251\/fontainebleau-finally-open-las-vegas-strip-16-years-drew-mother-wolf-rooms-new-casino\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Las Vegas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Not all of their ventures have worked out. The company opened an LA-style British pub, <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2022\/11\/3\/23437595\/the-chap-hollywood-openings-restaurant-los-angeles-british-pub-restaurant-la\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Chap<\/a>, but closed it a year later, in 2023, in the middle of the company\u2019s lawsuit with then-partnering development company <a href=\"https:\/\/relevantgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Relevant Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">125 West 57th is going to be a high-priced, fancy 30-story building run by real estate developers Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Cain International.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">The address had been home to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Calvary_Baptist_Church_(Manhattan)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Calvary Baptist Church<\/a>, dating back to the late 1800s, dubbed a \u201cskyscraper church.\u201d As part of this new development, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curbed.com\/article\/church-apartment-conversion-architecture.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the church will reopen<\/a>, occupying the second through 10th floors. The overall space is scheduled to open after Labor Day in September, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/20\/business\/calvary-baptist-churchs-miracle-building-on-west-57th-street-gets-2-new-leases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per the Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">It\u2019s down the street from another big Midtown restaurant in the works.
