Indy next.”

Earnhardt, who will share more about Dover on his podcast this week, called the race for TNT and saw Denny Hamlin take the checkered flag. The Dover race featured a 56-minute red flag for rain, late-race strategy decisions and two overtime restarts, and Hamlin came out on top to win his fourth race of the season. This whole Progressive Toyota team did amazing. Coca-Cola, Shady Rays, Sport Clips, this whole team, just done an amazing job.

More on the NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover

“Winning here in Dover is super special to me. This is a place I’ve not been very good at the first half of my career. Having a back-to-back here over the last few years is amazing.”

Denny Hamlin had a good run on Sunday, but it looked like Chase Elliott was going to earn his second victory of the year. With that finish and his consistent racing the last few weeks, Elliott passed William Byron to become the NASCAR Cup Series points leader.

“Been really proud of the effort all day,” Elliott said to TNT Sports during a weather delay in the final stage. “Couple little hiccups here and there, but had a nice recovery to get back to the lead and didn’t want to see that caution.
