{"id":836637,"date":"2026-06-01T11:02:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T11:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/836637\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T11:02:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T11:02:17","slug":"arm-ibm-and-hewlett-packard-soar-nvidia-chip-extends-software-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/836637\/","title":{"rendered":"Arm, IBM and Hewlett Packard soar; Nvidia chip extends software rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Software stocks spiked ahead of Monday&#8217;s opening bell after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/NVDA\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nvidia<\/a> CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/31\/nvidias-new-chip-to-power-fresh-line-of-windows-laptops-by-dell-hp.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jensen Huang<\/a> unveiled plans for a new chip that will power personal computers.<\/p>\n<p>Investors are piling into a range of computer-related names on the first trading day of June, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/NOW\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ServiceNow<\/a> leading the premarket rise after soaring 14.4% ahead of the opening bell. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/IBM\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IBM<\/a> surged 12.7% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/HPE\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hewlett Packard<\/a> rose 12.6%. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/ARM\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ARM<\/a> is up 12.2% before Monday&#8217;s market open, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/NBIS\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nebius<\/a> has added more than 2%.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Taiwan&#8217;s Computex conference on Monday, Huang unveiled the new N1X processor, made alongside\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/MSFT\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a>, which he said will spark a &#8220;reinvention of the computer\u2026.as big of a deal as the reinvention of the phone into what we now know as the smartphone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, Nvidia&#8217;s historic push into the PC chip space sent shares in rival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/INTC\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Intel<\/a> into retreat. Intel, in which the U.S. government holds a near-10% stake, was almost 6% lower ahead of the market open.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a rally in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/06\/01\/asia-markets-nikkei-225-kospi-hang-seng-index.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">South Korean tech stocks<\/a> helped guide the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kospi<\/a> to a 3.7% gain. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/LGEIY\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LG Electronics<\/a> ended the session up 29.9%, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/SSNHZ\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samsung Electronics<\/a> shares rose about 10.1%.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung and LG executives are expected to meet with Jensen Huang later this week, raising the possibility of collaboration on AI and robotics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is a developing story.
