LEAP Academy University Charter School<\/a> joined the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program on May 29, Verizon\u2019s education initiative that is intended to empower students and teachers with the tools they need to unlock their potential and feel confident in today\u2019s digital economy.\u00a0<\/p>\nIn partnership with Digital Promise, the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program works with schools and districts to provide Internet-connected and STEM learning programs so students can excel. Being part of the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program will keep students connected, helping facilitate learning.<\/p>\n
LEAP STEAM High School and LEAP STEM Intermediate School are among the 33 new schools joining the 13th cohort of Verizon Innovative Learning Schools, bringing the program\u2019s reach to 693 in 126 districts across the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Participating schools receive free mobile devices (either tablets or laptops) with accompanying Verizon data plans for every student and teacher beginning in fall 2026. In addition to reliable access for every student and teacher, the partnership equips each school with a full-time technology coach and provides robust professional development to help teachers effectively integrate technology into the classroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis partnership unlocks even more opportunities for our students to build the skills, knowledge and capabilities to pursue careers in STEM fields,\u201d said Gloria Bonilla-Santiago, founder of LEAP Academy.<\/p>\n
Verizon Innovative Learning is driving improvements in the classroom.
