{"id":83753,"date":"2025-07-22T17:32:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T17:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/83753\/"},"modified":"2025-07-22T17:32:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T17:32:10","slug":"cristin-milioti-starring-in-horror-movie-buddy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/83753\/","title":{"rendered":"Cristin Milioti Starring in Horror Movie Buddy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHot off her Emmy nomination for her work in HBO\u2019s The Penguin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cristin-milioti\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cristin-milioti_1\" data-tag=\"cristin-milioti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cristin Milioti<\/a> is jumping into her next screen project, an independent horror thriller titled Buddy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCasper Kelly, who co-created Adult Swim shows such as Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell and the horror comedy viral sensation Too Many Cooks, is directing the feature, which began production this week in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJ.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules are producing via their BoulderLight Pictures, the banner that is having a, um, banner year with Companion, Friendship, and the upcoming horror movie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/weapons\/\" id=\"auto-tag_weapons_1\" data-tag=\"weapons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Weapons<\/a>, on their slate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTyler Davidson and Drew Sykes are producing for Low Spark Films, the Cleveland, Ohio based production company that counts Emily The Criminal and Take Shelter amongst their credits. The company is co-financing the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPlot details are being kept under wraps, but the project is being described as a \u201cnew experience in horror.\u201d Kelly co-wrote the script with Jamie King, who previously worked on the Disney+ family movie World\u2019s Best.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBoulderLight vp of development &amp; production Tracy Rosenblum is executive producing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe feature is being produced in association with Sipur Studios (Bad Boy) &amp; Substance. This marks Sipur\u2019s first investment in the horror space.<\/p>\n<p>Coming from Kelly, the movie is likely to be a genre-defying piece of work. Too Many Cooks, made for Adult Swim, was a short that began as a parody riff on the opening credits of 1980s and 1990s sitcoms and other shows before slowly turning into a slasher story that interacted with the text of the credits. He also contributed a fake commercial titled \u201cGoblin Chedder\u201d to cult horror movie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/mandy\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mandy_1\" data-tag=\"mandy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mandy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMilioti played Sofia Falcone, the daughter of a deceased gangster, in Penguin in which she stars opposite Colin Farrell. She earned an Emmy nomination last week, and was also nominated for a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Television Award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAmongst her other credits is the acclaimed 2020 time loop dark comedy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/palm-springs\/\" id=\"auto-tag_palm-springs_1\" data-tag=\"palm-springs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Palm Springs<\/a> and highly-regarded episodes of Black Mirror.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMilioti is repped by UTA and Jackoway Austen.
