{"id":838741,"date":"2026-06-02T08:48:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T08:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/838741\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T08:48:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T08:48:18","slug":"artworks-becomes-1001-colors-as-it-embarks-on-new-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/838741\/","title":{"rendered":"ArtWorks becomes 1001 Colors as it embarks on new projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CINCINNATI (WXIX) &#8211; After 30 years, the Cincinnati creative organization ArtWorks is rebranding as 1001 Colors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The change comes as the organization says they plan to expand its reach, allowing it the ability to \u201cgrow, differentiate and fully claim its identity on a larger stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">CEO and Artistic Director, Colleen Houston, shared the vision behind the new identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe chose the name 1001 Colors because it gives us a name that is truly our own, distinct, memorable, and positions us to stand out both locally and nationally,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s a powerful expression of who we are today and a forward-looking decision that reflects the scale of our ambition and our belief that creativity opens pathways for every young person, every artist, and every community we serve.1001 Colors reflects a spectrum of ideas, voices, and possibilities of our creative community and our potential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The organization says that this summer, apprentices will work across a mix of projects, ranging from large-scale murals, design and film to community-based projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">These include a new Cincinnati Public Radio mural on the building in Evanston and the statewide initiative, the America 250 Tuskegee Airmen mural series. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Former Cincinnati Mayor and founder of the ArtWorks mural program, Mark Mallory, reflected on that impact:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe murals in Cincinnati are a visual representation of the creativity of this area&#8230; that visual impact is something that will never go away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/page\/report-typos-to-fox19\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Please click here to report it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Do you have a photo or video of a breaking news story?
