{"id":838808,"date":"2026-06-02T09:31:32","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T09:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/838808\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T09:31:32","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T09:31:32","slug":"strip-club-co-owner-battles-scottsdale-mayor-and-her-brother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/838808\/","title":{"rendered":"Strip club co-owner battles Scottsdale mayor &#8212; and her brother |"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A man involved in a long-running legal battle with Mayor Lisa Borowsky\u2019s brother is claiming the mayor violated campaign laws and is part of a \u201ccriminal enterprise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In 2013, just after her term on City Council and a dozen years before she would become mayor of Scottsdale, Lisa Borowsky represented her brother in a legal fight against Dimitris (aka Dimitri) Kompos.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While that case dragged on, Kompos filed various claims against Todd Borowsky, owner of two Scottsdale adult entertainment clubs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The suits allege Kompos is not being compensated properly for owning 10% of Todd Borowsky\u2019s Skin Cabaret and three other commercial properties in Scottsdale.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As the Progress reported in an April story (\u201cMayor\u2019s brother sues city over drugging claims\u201d), according to a Dec. 19 Maricopa County Superior Court minute entry in the case, \u201cDefendants Wisnowski, Inc., and Todd Borowsky are represented by counsel, Lisa Borowsky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">On May 18, Kompos went to Scottsdale City Hall and filed a complaint against the mayor:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cTo Whom it may concern:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy name is Dimitris Kompos. I am a whistleblower. I am also the plaintiff in litigation with Wisnowki, Inc. DBA Skin Cabaret. Todd Borowsky, Eric Borowsky, Betty Borowsky are the defendants \u2026 This is Lisa Borowsky&#8217;s immediate family members. Lisa Borowsky is the current Mayor of Scottsdale, AZ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said his attorney used the discovery process to uncover documents.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAfter reviewing the attached information,\u201d Kompos wrote to the city, \u201cI felt compelled to come forward with this complaint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Citing 2020 invoices, Kompos accuses Lisa Borowsky of accepting an individual campaign donation of $9,506 \u2013 far higher than the individual donor limit of $6,750.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">City Clerk Ben Lane\u2019s response to Kompos:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis complaint is being dismissed as it was not filed in a timely manner. This complaint relates to Lisa Borowsky\u2019s 2020 Mayoral campaign and related campaign finance reports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Lane said Arizona law requires complaints must be filed within four years..\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSince this complaint relates to a campaign finance report that was filed more than four years ago,\u201d Lane wrote in an email to Kompos, \u201cthe complaint is being dismissed for not being filed in a timely manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kompos responded with another email \u201cto the management at City of Scottsdale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He requested \u201cvideo from the surveillance cameras from my first filing of this complaint yesterday, May 19 \u2026<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe fact that I have to file a second complaint is very troubling,\u201d Kompos continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He insisted a previous complaint against a man he identified as Lisa Borowsky\u2019s boyfriend \u201cfell on deaf ears.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cNow, it is concerning to me that Lisa Borowsky may use law enforcement against me to silence me. I need protection from this person and the people in her inner circle.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt is my understanding that I am dealing with a criminal enterprise,\u201d Kompos alleged.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Progress asked Borowsky to respond to the allegations of Kompos.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As of this edition\u2019s deadline, the mayor had not responded.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Dueling suits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to the Better Business Bureau, Kompos and Todd Borowsky are the two listed \u201cmembers\u201d of Vegas Pawn, also known as Stop and Sell. The business is on Scottsdale Road just south of McDowell Road.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In his 2016 lawsuit, Todd Borowsky stated in 2004 he \u201cpermitted (Kompos) to become a member of Stop and Sell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But, his lawsuit states, Todd Borowsky and Kompos \u201chave developed irreconcilable differences which has resulted in protracted litigation and the realization that an involuntary judicial dissolution \u2026 is now necessary and proper.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In the original 2013 Todd Borowsky vs. Dimitri Kompos lawsuit, Lisa Borowsky argued for a restraining order keeping Kompos away from her brother.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Katherine Cooper ruled \u201cKompos and Borowsky shall be restrained from visiting\u201d Vegas Pawn\/Stop and Sell.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Cooper also clarified that \u201c(Todd) Borowsky and Kompos are equal partners in Vegas Pawn,\u201d and that Kompos \u201cruns the day-to-day operations of the business\u201d with Todd Borowsky \u201cas a silent partner and is not involved in the day-to-day operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In 2012, when the two apparently agreed to sell the business, Cooper ruled Kompos put Vegas Pawn inventory including watches, jewelry, gold, silver and gemstones into safe deposit boxes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cKompos did not tell Borowsky about the safety deposit boxes, nor did he tell Borowsky that he had placed Vegas Pawn inventory in the boxes,\u201d the judge wrote.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kompos was also ordered to provide bank records and other financial information related to the business to Todd Borowsky.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In his 2016 lawsuit against Kompos, Todd Borowsky requested \u201cthe limited liability company known as Stop and Sell, LLC, and doing business as Vegas Pawn, be ordered to wind up its affairs and gather and\/or liquidate its assets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The newer lawsuit acknowledged that, after the 2013 case went to trial, \u201cthe jury returned verdicts on numerous causes of action for and against both parties.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHowever, the jury awarded no damages on any of the claims to either party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a 2014 lawsuit, Kompos alleged Todd Borowsky sold him 10% ownership of one of his Scottsdale strip clubs \u2013 then called Diamond Girls but now known as Skin Cabaret.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While Kompos was to be given a profit split, the Kompos suit claims \u201cTodd Borowsky paid his personal expenses through Skin Cabaret\u201d and paid expenses of another strip club without Kompos\u2019 approval.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Lisa Borowsky is listed as Todd Borowsky\u2019s attorney in the 2014 Kompos lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">On Dec. 15, 2023, Kompos filed another suit against Todd Borowsky.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kompos again claims a 10% interest in Skin Cabaret and that Borowsky and others \u201chave denied Kompos\u2019s rights by,<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">among other things, refusing to recognize or otherwise denying Kompos\u2019s ownership interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kompos is requesting a declaration of his alleged 10% ownership in Todd Borowsky\u2019s business \u2013 as well as reimbursement for attorney fees.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A hearing was scheduled for May 16, but vacated with an order that the parties submit scheduling requests by May 27.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Todd Borowsky v. city<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Todd Borowsky, meanwhile, is being sued by 41 men who claim his clubs stripped them of $2.3 million \u2013 an average rip off of more than $50,000 per patron.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While defending himself, Todd Borowsky in his own lawsuit filed March 20 and alleges the Scottsdale Police Department with a bogus, \u201crevenge investigation\u201d \u2013 trying to drum up cases of patrons being drugged in retaliation for an almost comically botched undercover sting at the strip club.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The suit blasts Scottsdale detectives and their supervisors with \u201cmanipulating official police records, altering investigative reports, omitting exculpatory evidence, and otherwise distorting investigative findings &#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a May 20 amended complaint filed with the United States District Court, longtime Borowsky attorney Dennis I. Wilenchik writes, \u201cThis civil rights action is \u2026 to stop a longstanding pattern and practice within the Scottsdale Police Department of manipulating official police records, altering investigative reports, omitting exculpatory evidence, and otherwise distorting investigative findings in order to protect favored individuals within law enforcement while targeting disfavored businesses and members of the Scottsdale community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The attorney alleges Todd Borowsky is being unfairly targeted, and \u201cthis unconstitutional practice is not the result of isolated misconduct by individual officers, but rather reflects a custom, policy, or tacit approval within SPD command leadership \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Judge Sharad H.
