\n\tNBC<\/a> has greenlit the comedy series \u201cStumble<\/a>,\u201d Variety has learned. <\/p>\n

\n\tOriginally ordered to pilot back in March<\/a>, the series is set in the world of competitive cheerleading. The cast includes Jenn Lyon, Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar, and Georgie Murphy. Kristin Chenoweth will recur. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe official logline for the series states, \u201cCoach Courteney Potter (Lyon) is determined to rally her newly recruited junior college cheer squad to win her record-breaking 15th championship and improve their lives along the way.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cStumble\u201d hails from writers and executive producers Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof. Dana Honor is executive producing via Defining Eve Productions, with cheerleading coach Monica Aldama also executive producing. Jeff Blitz directed and executive produced the pilot. Universal Television is the studio. <\/p>\n

\n\tNo official launch date for \u201cStumble\u201d has been set at the time of this publishing, but NBC does still have two open timeslots on its fall schedule. With the release of their fall schedule<\/a>, NBC left open slots on both Mondays and Fridays starting in November following returning comedies \u201cSt. Denis Medical\u201d and \u201cHappy\u2019s Place.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cStumble\u201d could potentially take one of those spots, though the network also has the comedy \u201cThe Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins\u201d<\/a> starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe waiting on a premiere date as well. NBC also has an untitled pilot set at a Native American community center<\/a> from Sierra Teller Ornelas, Jackie Keliiaa, and Bobby Wilson still in contention. <\/p>\n

\n\tNBC axed a large number of shows going into their upfront presentation earlier this year, including comedies \u201cNight Court\u201d and \u201cLopez vs. Lopez.\u201d The network also canceled a large number of dramas, including freshman shows \u201cSuits LA\u201d and \u201c\u201cGrosse Pointe Garden Society.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"NBC has greenlit the comedy series \u201cStumble,\u201d Variety has learned.
