\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Mubi<\/a> is heading to the Windy City with its 3rd Mubi Fest<\/a>, which will host the Chicago premiere of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tRunning July 10-12 in Chicago, Mubi Fest 2026 will feature writer\/director Jane Schoenbrun\u2019s latest film, starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, as part of this year\u2019s \u2018Better Together\u2019 programming, \u201ca series of cinematic pairings that reflect and refract one another, exploring relationships as a shifting bond shaped by loyalty, intimacy and power. Each film might echo or even complicate the other, but they\u2019re always better together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe festival highlights also include a preview of Karim A\u00efnouz\u2019s Rosebush Pruning, starring Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson; as well as a live score performance of Kelly Reichardt\u2019s The Mastermind with composer Rob Mazurek; plus a special scented screening of Coralie Fargeat\u2019s The Substance (a la John Waters\u2019 Odorama screenings).<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso on the weekend\u2019s schedule are special repertory 35mm screenings of Lurker, featuring a Q&A with director Alex Russell; a 10th anniversary singalong of Lonely Island\u2019s Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping; and a 25th anniversary screening of Steven Soderbergh\u2019s Ocean\u2019s Eleven.<\/p>\n

\n\tMubi Fest Chicago<\/a> will once again be hosted at The Salt Shed, The Music Box Theatre and the Gene Siskel Film Center, with the outdoor Mubi Market returning to the Salt Shed, featuring local businesses and an exclusive Mubi merch pop-up.\u00a0Tickets and the full schedule are available online<\/a>. \n\tThe event comes one year after Mubi came under fire for a $100 million investment from Sequoia Capital<\/a>, a private equity firm that also invested in Israeli defence-tech startup Kela. In a statement<\/a>, Mubi CEO Efe Cakarel emphasized that Sequoia has no oversight with the British streaming service, nor does Mubi fund Kela.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe condemn all acts that harm innocent civilians and reaffirm the right of all people to live in peace and safety.
