As we told you, Backrooms for the 3 Arts repped <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/kane-parsons\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kane-parsons\" data-tag=\"kane-parsons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kane Parsons<\/a>, charted the best opening ever for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/a24\/\" id=\"auto-tag_a24\" data-tag=\"a24\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A24<\/a> with an $81.4M opening, $118M global start.  The running domestic total over 4-days for Backrooms is $89M. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBackrooms came very, very close to toppling Paramount\u2019s PG-13 rated <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/world-war-z\/\" id=\"auto-tag_world-war-z\" data-tag=\"world-war-z\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World War Z<\/a> to own the best Monday ever for a horror film in June (that zombie movie defined as action horror), that Mark Forster-directed 2013 movie earning $7.67M on its first Monday in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe under $10M Atomic Monster-Blumhouse, 21 Laps, Odd Fellow, Chernin Entertainment co-production Backrooms is expected to hold -55% in its second frame, with around $36M-$37M, potentially upsetting a No. 2 opening for Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 Masters of the Universe ($25M-$35M) at the upcoming weekend B.O. which is expected to be led by Paramount\/Miramax\u2019s reboot of Scary Movie ($35M-$45M). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWe told you yesterday that when it comes to a feature sequel for Backrooms, Parsons is currently scouting a screenwriter to co-collaborate with. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFocus Features\/Blumhouse\u2019s Curry Barker directed Obsession was second yesterday with an estimated $5.2M, taking its running cume to $111M. As we told you, it\u2019s already Focus Features top grossing movie ever at the domestic B.O.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDisney\/Lucasfilm\u2019s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu was third yesterday with a second estimated Monday of $2.2M and running domestic cume of $139M.
