For most of their history, the Duke Blue Devils <\/strong>have been the team everybody loves to hate. That may have to do with their long history of landing the best prospects.<\/p>\n

That was especially the case this season, as they were arguably the team to beat in all of college basketball<\/a> because of the plethora of future NBA talent<\/strong> they had in their ranks. <\/p>\n

However, Bruce Pearl has nothing but love for coach Jon Scheyer.<\/strong> That\u2019s why, after watching Tyrese Proctor dominate with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he had plenty of praise for him.<\/p>\n

We were at the NBA Summer League and watched Tyrese demonstrate the rewards of being ready rather than just being drafted.<\/strong> Auburn basketball had 6 guys here, 5 with degrees and all with championships. They were all prepared and ready for what\u2019s next as AuburnMen,\u201d he said, per Duke Basketball Report.<\/p>\n

It takes more than just a good tactician to help and inspire young players<\/strong>, and Scheyer has clearly done a solid job in his brief time in charge of the Blue Devils\u2019 basketball program.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019ll be interesting to see how he works his magic and bounces back after losing so many players to the NBA Draft, including first-overall pick Cooper Flagg.<\/strong><\/p>\n
