MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Marquette County Board is showing its support for rural mental health in upper Michigan.<\/p>\n
Tuesday night, the board unanimously supported a resolution to protect rural access to behavioral health services. The resolution supports the rural and frontier caucus of the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan.<\/p>\n
County Board Chair Joe Derocha says the resolution supports local municipalities and health providers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe resolution supports legislation that will help counties and help these individuals and groups that provide those services, Pathways and Northcare, that do these services,\u201d Derocha said.<\/p>\n
The resolution also ensures rural input on policy decisions through a formal consultation process.<\/p>\n
