Six of the nine artists originally set to perform on the National Mall <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/freedom-250-lineup-performers-reaction-chaos-1235569591\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">have dropped out<\/a>, all of them effectively claiming they were pitched a nonpartisan show celebrating America\u2019s 250th anniversary, only to realize the event would be way more political, with glaring ties to President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/donald-trump\/\" id=\"auto-tag_donald-trump\" data-tag=\"donald-trump\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Trump<\/a> (who\u2019s since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/donald-trump-freedom-250-concert-performance-1235569923\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced himself as the real headliner<\/a>, anyway \u2014 go figure).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThose to go include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/martina-mcbride-drops-out-trump-freedom-250-concert-1235569756\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Martina McBride<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bret-michaels-drops-out-trump-freedom-250-concert-1235569821\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bret Michaels<\/a>, Morris Day and the Time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/young-mc-drops-out-the-great-american-state-fair-1235569609\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Young MC<\/a>, the Commodores, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/milli-vanilli-fab-morvan-drops-out-freedom-250-concert-1235571091\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Milli Vanilli<\/a>. Those who remain: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/vanilla-ice-donald-trump-freedom-250-concert-defense-1235570375\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vanilla Ice<\/a>, C+C Music Factory (though it\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2501079\/cc-music-factory-co-founder-threatens-to-sue-frontman-for-using-group-name\/news\">complicated<\/a>), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/flo-rida\/\" id=\"auto-tag_flo-rida\" data-tag=\"flo-rida\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flo Rida<\/a>. And of those three, Flo Rida has been conspicuously quiet about the whole debacle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWhile the musicians who\u2019ve dropped out have all shared statements, and those who\u2019ve stayed have defended their positions \u2014 none more emphatically than C+C\u2019s Freedom Williams, who <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DY3WSXVRwYA\/\">unleashed<\/a> an outrageous rant from his toilet \u2014 Flo Rida has said zilch. Or at least close to zilch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe past few days, his social pages have been filled with angry comments, some of which he\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/leylamohammed\/flo-rida-responds-after-great-american-state-fair-backlash\">responded to<\/a> with laughing emojis. And on Monday, he posted the kind of statement one could read as the defiance of a man hearing the criticism and choosing to ignore it, without actually directly addressing it either. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cRegardless of all the noise in the world we can still choose every day to be positive and share the good news,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/official_flo\/status\/2061520867599831205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">wrote<\/a>, adding, \u201c\u201dSo are you really living or are you letting the world wear you down. As you can see, Me and my #family are rejoicing in the blessings #grateful for these moments.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tCompare this vague posting with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/jon-stewart-epstein-trump-freedom-250-concert-daily-show-1235571070\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Freedom Williams<\/a>, who declared \u201cI don\u2019t fuck with Trump,\u201d while simultaneously signaling his intent to play the show when he rebuffed angry fans with this all-timer quote: \u201cI will vote for fucking Genghis Khan, Hitler, and motherfucking Ivan the Terrible before I let you n\u2014s tell me what to motherfucking do.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t(It should be noted that while Williams was C+C\u2019s lead rapper, his current use of the group\u2019s name is controversial. The band\u2019s actual co-founder, Robert Clivill\u00e9s, has <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DY6aTtCMKvo\/\">heavily criticized<\/a> Williams and emphatically distanced himself from the MC and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/freedom-250\/\" id=\"auto-tag_freedom-250\" data-tag=\"freedom-250\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Freedom 250<\/a> concert.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAdditionally, Rolling Stone has reached out to Flo Rida\u2019s management multiple times for comment, with no response. His booking agent, Jeff Epstein (yeah, we know), didn\u2019t respond to a request for comment either. (Epstein represents several other artists tied to Freedom 250.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis resounding silence from Flo Rida and his team was enough to make us wonder: Does Flo Rida even know that he\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/events.freedom250.org\/events\/great-american-state-fair-flo-rida\">scheduled to perform<\/a> a concert in Washington, D.C. on July 2? Is Flo Rida actually playing a concert in Washington, D.C. on July 2?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFaced with this question \u2014 which is really serious, and not just facetious fodder for a story \u2014 we set out for answers, and quickly found them on, of all places, Flo Rida\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFirst of all, the tour itinerary on Flo Rida\u2019s site lists no July 2 concert, neither in Washington, D.C., nor anywhere else. That said, the live section is pretty skimpy. The European tour he just wrapped is still up there, but it doesn\u2019t include other shows he\u2019s scheduled to play this summer in North America (which do appear real, as you can buy tickets to them on Ticketmaster if you really want).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSecond, it turns out Flo Rida\u2019s website has its own personalized AI chatbot, FloGPT. While FloGPT suggests prompts like \u201cFlo, how do you come up with hooks that are so catchy?\u201d, or \u201cFlo, what\u2019s one health or fitness tip you live by?\u201d, we ignored that softball shlock and went straight for the one, hard-hitting question we had: \u201cIs Flo Rida performing at the Great American State Fair concert series organized by Freedom 250?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p>\t\tRelated Content<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe response shocked us: \u201cThe Great American State Fair concert series, organized by Freedom 250, is known for featuring a diverse lineup of artists. However, there is no confirmed information about Flo Rida performing at this event.\u201d (Emphasis added.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWell, there you have it. Kind of. Is that a real concrete answer? Absolutely not. Do we know more than we did at the beginning of this post? Don\u2019t think so.
