{"id":84240,"date":"2025-07-22T21:48:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T21:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/84240\/"},"modified":"2025-07-22T21:48:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T21:48:13","slug":"immersive-game-of-thrones-exhibition-blows-the-winds-of-winter-into-arlington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/84240\/","title":{"rendered":"Immersive Game of Thrones exhibition blows \u2018The Winds of Winter\u2019 into Arlington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winter is coming early to Arlington for a new exhibition spotlighting props and costumes from the HBO series Game of Thrones.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington Museum of Art will showcase an immersive collection of more than 60 original costumes worn by iconic characters across all eight seasons, from Daenerys Targaryen\u2019s dragon-scale gowns to Jon Snow\u2019s battle-worn Night\u2019s Watch gear.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit includes behind-the-scenes insights, images and design sketches that reveal the historical influences behind the looks and development of the series.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kendall Quirk, the museum\u2019s director of exhibitions, said more than just a tribute to the world of Game of Thrones, the exhibition is a celebration of the fandom that keeps the story of Westeros alive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are so many talented artists who brought the series to life through sets, graphic design and costumes, and we\u2019re so thrilled to celebrate their work,\u201d she said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGame of Thrones: The Exhibition\u201d runs from Oct. 4 through April 5, 2026. Tickets <a href=\"https:\/\/arlingtonmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">go on sale<\/a> Aug. 1. The exhibition is suitable for all ages, according to the museum. It is done in partnership with Warner Bros. (Courtesy image | Arlington Museum of Art, HBO)<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington Museum of Art, established in 1974, focuses on showcasing loaned collections, curated exhibits and immersive experiences in the city\u2019s Entertainment District.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The museum was located in downtown Arlington for almost 34 years before <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2024\/04\/03\/new-arlington-museum-of-art-to-propel-entertainment-districts-foot-traffic-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moving inside the Esports Stadium and Expo Center<\/a> at 1200 Ballpark Way in March 2024. The new museum space has four galleries with a total of nearly 21,000 square feet of exhibit space.<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington museum previously spotlighted the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/04\/30\/mind-bending-work-of-m-c-escher-alters-reality-space-at-new-arlington-exhibition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mind-bending visuals of Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher<\/a>, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2024\/09\/12\/arlington-museum-of-art-to-show-shining-shimmering-splendid-costumes-from-disney-archives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">300 costumes and props from the Walt Disney Archives<\/a> and a display of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/01\/22\/arlington-museum-of-arts-wicked-exhibition-defies-expectations-like-gravity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wicked\u201d dresses<\/a> worn by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in the 2024 film adaptation of the Broadway musical.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the last few years, the Arlington Museum of Art has honed its skills as a museum that never stands still,\u201d Chris Hightower, president and CEO of the museum, <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2024\/04\/03\/new-arlington-museum-of-art-to-propel-entertainment-districts-foot-traffic-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously told<\/a> the Report.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>David Moreno is the arts and culture reporter for the Fort Worth Report.
