WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Two Republican candidates running for New York\u2019s 21st congressional district spoke with 7News ahead of the primary election.<\/p>\n
Robert Smullen is currently serving in the state Assembly.<\/p>\n
He touted his work as a politician, but emphasized that first and foremost he\u2019s a military man, pointing to decades of service with the US Marine Corps. <\/p>\n
He says his experience makes him the best pick. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m talking to people all around this district, and I\u2019ve found that I represent the majority of people in this district. They want me to take our voice, our values to Washington D.C.,\u201d said Robert Smullen.<\/p>\n
Smullen\u2019s opponent is Anthony Constantino, who is the CEO of an Amsterdam-based custom printing company, Sticker Mule.<\/p>\n
Constantino has President Trump\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n
He says that, and his work as a businessman makes him the best choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Trump inspired me to get involved and grow my company faster in 2016. He championed American manufacturing. I saw how hard he was working for his country. It made me want to work hard and grow my business faster,\u201d said Anthony Constantino.<\/p>\n
The Republican primary is happening on June 23rd.<\/p>\n
