Denny Hamlin<\/a> has threatened to wreck his NASCAR rivals as he chases his first Cup Series title. <\/b><\/p>\n

\nThe Joe Gibbs Racing<\/a> star earned his second-consecutive Dover win last weekend, where he managed to fend off a late resurgence from team-mate Chase Briscoe<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nSpeaking on his Actions Detrimental<\/a> podcast, Hamlin issued a warning to his NASCAR rivals when they battle him in future races, and revealed he wasn’t scared of taking out anyone who tries to chase him up the track. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cIf someone is going to chase me up the track, this is a public service announcement to anyone that thinks they\u2019re going to do that,” Hamlin said. <\/p>\n

\n“If they do it, I\u2019m just going to hold the gas down, bounce off the wall and take you out with me. That\u2019s what I would\u2019ve done.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hamlin’s NASCAR warning<\/p>\n

\nWhen Hamlin was asked what Briscoe could have done to beat him at Dover, the 44-year-old provided an answer that could have ended in a nightmare result for them both. <\/p>\n

\nHamlin stated that if Briscoe had attempted to run him up the track it could have ended in a wreck for both drivers, with the NASCAR star making his intent clear during the podcast. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cI wasn\u2019t going to lift. There\u2019s just no way. I\u2019m already in control of the race. It\u2019s our race to lose,” he continued. <\/p>\n

\n“Running me up the race track, that\u2019s what he could\u2019ve done, I just think it probably would have been bad for both of us.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nThankfully for JGR, Hamlin’s team-mate solidarity ensured a one-two finish for the squad, with Briscoe maintaining second place in a successful outing at Dover. <\/p>\n
