Dogs removed from home (Houston SPCA)<\/p>\n
HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 The Houston SPCA says 50 dogs and puppies were rescued from a property in southeast Houston where they were found living in horrific conditions.<\/p>\n The Houston SPCA\u2019s animal cruelty investigators along with the Harris County Pct. 1 Constable\u2019s Office said the floors of the home were covered in urine and piles of feces were scattered throughout the home.<\/p>\n The dogs and puppies were found to be suffering from various forms of neglect including untreated skin conditions, urine-soaked and matted fur, as well as dental disease and other health concerns.<\/p>\n \u201cThese animals were living in a diseased environment that was not only unhealthy but dangerous to any living being,\u201d said Dr. Roberta Westbrook, Chief Veterinarian for the Houston SPCA. \u201cThe high levels of ammonia made this a very toxic space,\u201d said Westbrook.<\/p>\n All the dogs were removed from the home and taken to the Houston SPCA campus.
