But the question remains whether the remaining votes will allow her to edge out\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/06\/03\/spencer-pratt-la-mayor\/90384457007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Spencer Pratt<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/california\/2026\/06\/03\/who-won-los-angeles-mayor-race-karen-bass-spencer-pratt\/90387916007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">advance to the November election<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, who will advance to the runoff election, is in the lead at 34.98%, according to results as of Friday, June 5. She\u2019s followed by Pratt at 28.24% and Raman at 24.89%, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder\/County Clerk.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gnt_ar_b_ul\">\n<li class=\"gnt_ar_b_ul_li\">Karen Bass: 215,868 | 34.98%<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_ar_b_ul_li\">Spencer Pratt: 174,260 | 28.24%<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_ar_b_ul_li\">Nithya Raman: 153,588 | 24.89%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">On Friday, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder\/County Clerk processed 140,408 ballots, which resulted in Raman slowly gaining ground on Pratt&#8217;s lead. On Thursday, June 4, Pratt was leading at 29.35% and Raman at 23.42%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">There are an estimated 530,00 outstanding ballots countywide to be processed, with a bulk of those ballots being vote-by-mail, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LACountyRRCC\/status\/2063055840618180922?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">officials said on June 5.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Theoretically, the remaining ballots could be enough for Raman to advance, but in reality, it\u2019s not likely, said Fernando Guerra, director of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Guerra, who spoke to the USA TODAY Network just before the latest results were released on June 4, said the remaining votes would bump her up from the then-22.81 % of the vote she had.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Raman, who thanked her supporters in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/video\/fmc-lb6yczyxkzfkxa5g\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">clip shared by Fox 11 Los Angeles<\/a>\u00a0on June 2, said that votes will continue to be counted in the days to come \u2014 and that they may not get an answer they like.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;Regardless of what happens next, nobody, nobody can take away what all of us have built together,\u201d Raman said. \u201cAt a time when so many people have written Los Angeles off, or have lost hope in the future of this incredible city, you are proof that Angelenos are hungry for change, for a city that works for everyone, a city that dreams bigger, a city that believes in itself again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Officials are scheduled to certify the election results on June 26.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_gl gnt_em__el\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/picture-gallery\/news\/california\/2026\/06\/02\/los-angeles-mayor-race-in-photos\/90370666007\/\" data-t-l=\"\u2691g:l|l|c|view gallery:inline promo\" aria-label=\"View Gallery - Los Angeles mayoral candidates take to polls, campaign events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img class=\"gnt_em_gl_i\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2026\/06\/02\/USAT\/90370485007-getty-images-2278739951.jpg?crop=1023,576,x0,y0&amp;width=660&amp;height=372&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"372\"\/><\/a>Candidate exits Los Angeles mayor race<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Adam Miller, among the leading candidates running for mayor of Los Angeles, ended his campaign, a spokesperson confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Miller, a nonprofit executive and the founder of a technology company, proposed a plan for Los Angeles that included reducing street homelessness, lowering the average rent, increasing law enforcement patrols, and slashing permitting time. He said he ran out of his love for Los Angeles, and his belief that the city is \u201ccapable of far more than what we\u2019ve been willing to accept.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cFor the past 35 years, I\u2019ve built organizations focused on helping people \u2014 from education and workforce development to homelessness prevention and disaster response,\u201d Miller said in a statement. \u201cI wanted to bring that same sense of urgency, accountability, innovation, and execution to City Hall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Jaime Sarachit, communications director, confirmed Miller\u2019s exit to the USA TODAY Network on June 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cThis was never just about one election,\u201d Miller said. \u201cIt has been about building momentum for lasting change and refusing to believe that LA has to settle for dysfunction, delays, and declining trust in government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He said Los Angelenos reminded him of why the city is \u201cso special\u201d throughout his run for office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cThe crises we face remain urgent, and I will continue working to help solve them,\u201d Miller said. \u201cI still believe Los Angeles is worth fighting for and that all Angelenos deserve to live better.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Results as of June 5 show Miller at 3.80%, or 23,449 votes, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder\/County Clerk.
