The teenager who ran onto the court and disrupted Game 1 of the NBA Finals has identified himself as a Dallas-area resident.<\/p>\n
Yousif Alsahli, 16, told the San Antonio Express-News<\/a> he lives in Dallas and is a typical teenager who goes to \u201ca regular school,\u201d plays soccer and works at a restaurant. According to public records, his family owns a home in Murphy, and he is listed on a roster for the Wylie High School soccer team.<\/p>\n Alsahli\u2019s actions on Wednesday night were far from typical. When he dashed onto the court during the fourth quarter, he was wearing a white T-shirt with \u201c$Attention\u201d written in black letters on the front. As security personnel escorted him off the court, after he attempted to take a video with his phone while standing next to San Antonio Spurs’ center Victor Wembanyama, he could be heard shouting \u201cWemby!\u201d and \u201cAttention!\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0NBA banned Alsahli from its arenas for life on Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cThe individual who entered the court area during Game 1 of The Finals was arrested and will be banned for life from all NBA arenas,\u201d an NBA spokesman said in a message sent to The Associated Press and other outlets. \u201cA second individual will also receive a lifetime ban for his role in the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n Investigators are looking into whether\u00a0Alsahli\u2019s stunt was intended to draw attention to a cryptocurrency, the Express-News reported<\/a>, and more specifically, the meme coin, \u201c$Attention.\u201d<\/p>\n A field-rushing stunt similar to the one Alsahli pulled occurred at the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson at\u00a0TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney. A man wearing a white T-shirt with \u201c$Attention\u201d written in black letters on the front\u00a0climbed over the ropes and began circling the green at hole No. 6<\/a>, where Dallas native and world No. 1 golfer Scottie\u00a0Scheffler was walking towards his ball. The man was also yelling \u201cAttention!\u201d and gesturing with his shirt. He was detained by security personnel as Scheffler attempted his putt.<\/p>\n Alsahli did not respond to follow-up questions from the\u00a0Express-News about his \u201c$Attention\u201d T-shirt or why he shouted the word as he was being detained by security personnel.<\/p>\n \u201cAll I did was really run to the court,\u201d Alsahli told the Express-News<\/a>. \u201cI didn\u2019t touch anyone. I know the game was going on, but I didn\u2019t disturb it too much.\u201d<\/p>\n He was issued citations for criminal trespass and disrupting a meeting or procession, both Class B misdemeanors, according to the\u00a0Express-News.<\/p>\n When the Express-News asked how his parents reacted to the incident, Alsahli said, \u201cThey pretty much said I\u2019m stupid, for real.\u201d<\/p>\n
