New bakery opens in Pearland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yellowapronbakingcotx.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yellow Apron Baking Co.<\/a> officially opened its doors in mid-May, owner Marilyn Ramirez said. The business is currently in its soft opening phase, with plans for a grand opening in mid-June.<\/p>\n<p>Featured items the bakery offers are chocolate chip cookies, fudge pan brownies, cinnamon streusel coffee cake, snickerdoodle cookies and breakfast tacos, among other items, according to the bakery&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/pearland-friendswood-manvel\/business\/2026\/05\/28\/new-bakery-opens-in-pearland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read more with Editor Haley Velasco.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Montgomery County Sheriff\u2019s Office talks Flock cameras<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov\/Home\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Woodlands Township<\/a> board of directors on May 28 voted 6-0 to accept a report from the Montgomery County Sheriff&#8217;s Office for Flock Safety license plate reader camera use. The Flock cameras are used as an investigative tool for MCSO to identify vehicles linked to crime.<\/p>\n<p>Flock cameras are currently in around 5,000 communities across the country and have been in Montgomery County since February, said Ian Leslie, public affairs manager for Flock Safety. Legacy Park at Katy Court to bring 56-acre park<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parksidecap.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parkside Capital<\/a> has broken ground on Legacy Park at Katy Court, which integrates stormwater management with immersive outdoor experiences, officials announced in a May 13 news release.<\/p>\n<p>The 56-acre detention and regional park amenity will serve as the centerpiece of the Legacy Prairie at Katy Court community.<\/p>\n<p>The park, which is inspired by the native Katy prairie landscape, will feature a nature-based playground featuring sculpted play berms, tunnels and sides as well as climbing equipment to encourage exploration, creativity and interaction with the environment, per the release.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/katy-fulshear\/development\/2026\/05\/29\/legacy-park-at-katy-court-to-bring-56-acre-nature-forward-park\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Explore the full story by Editor Aubrey Howell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Missouri City updates thoroughfare plan for Sienna circulation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.missouricitytx.gov\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Missouri City<\/a> officials are working to improve mobility and safety in the Sienna area.<\/p>\n<p>The Sienna thoroughfare plan, which is a part of the mobility master plan, serves as a visionary document for the city\u2019s major thoroughfare development, per agenda documents. Conroe ISD approves 5 new principals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At its June 2 special board meeting, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conroeisd.net\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Conroe ISD<\/a> board finalized the hiring of five new principals to serve the district for the 2026-27 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Barber\u2014who will be the principal of Gordon Reed Elementary School\u2014originally served at Giesinger Elementary in multiple roles, including classroom teacher, coach and assistant principal.<\/p>\n<p>Angela Akin Fonville\u2014the new principal of Giesinger Elementary School\u2014has nearly two decades of experience in educational leadership.
