{"id":849899,"date":"2026-06-07T03:47:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-07T03:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/849899\/"},"modified":"2026-06-07T03:47:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T03:47:26","slug":"mets-jorge-polanco-pulled-from-rehab-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/849899\/","title":{"rendered":"Mets&#8217; Jorge Polanco pulled from rehab assignment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN DIEGO \u2014 Jorge Polanco\u2019s imminent return to the Mets may not be so imminent.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran infielder was removed from his minor league rehab assignment on Saturday due to ankle soreness, according to the team, and will return to New York for further evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>Polanco was previously scheduled to play for Triple-A Syracuse.<\/p>\n<p>The Mets had originally hoped he would rejoin the club on this road trip, but manager Carlos Mendoza indicated on Friday that Polanco needed to build up at-bats and innings at first base for Syracuse.<\/p>\n<p>Polanco, who arrived on a two-year contract worth $40 million, was placed on the injured list with a right wrist contusion on April 15, but at the time was dealing with left Achilles bursitis.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39603074\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/11-reacts-walks-back-dugout-124684593.jpg\" alt=\"New York Mets second baseman Jorge Polanco walking back to the dugout.\" class=\"wp-image-39603074\"  \/>Jorge Polanco is pictured during the Mets\u2019 March 29 game.
