JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A man in his 20s was shot after a bullet entered his home and struck him in the leg in the Beachwood neighborhood on Jacksonville\u2019s Southside. <\/p>\n

The shooting occurred on the Southside, on the 10900 block of Beach Boulevard, at about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday. <\/p>\n

According to a preliminary investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, the man was awake inside his residence when he heard multiple gunshots outside.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when one of the bullets entered his home and struck his leg.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction. There is no suspect description at this time.<\/p>\n

The victim was transported by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue to a local hospital, where he is listed as being in non-life-threatening condition.<\/p>\n

Detectives with the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit are actively investigating the scene and canvassing for leads.<\/p>\n

Shell casings were recovered from the scene, and JSO believes this is an isolated incident that is not related to a domestic dispute.<\/p>\n
