Now, researchers say it may also slow biological aging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The study involved 108 adults with HIV-associated lipohypertrophy, a condition marked by abnormal fat buildup around the abdomen. Measurements from the PCGrimAge clock also showed reductions in processes linked to age-related disease and overall mortality risk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Although the study focused on people with HIV-associated lipohypertrophy, researchers said the findings could have broader implications for the general population.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
