{"id":852456,"date":"2026-06-08T08:18:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T08:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/852456\/"},"modified":"2026-06-08T08:18:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T08:18:12","slug":"ben-gurion-airport-open-amid-iran-missile-attacks-israel-reduces-traffic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/852456\/","title":{"rendered":"Ben-Gurion Airport open amid Iran missile attacks, Israel reduces traffic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ben-Gurion Airport will remain open for now, but officials are expected to reduce the number of passengers and departing flights following the resumption of hostilities and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/iran-news\/2026-06-08\/live-updates-898667\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">missile attacks from Iran<\/a>, according to Israeli authorities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-898674\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The IDF&#8217;s Home Front Command<\/a> is seeking to lower the number of passengers at the airport to around 2,500, a move that would reduce the number of outbound flights. The Transportation Ministry, however, is pushing for a higher cap of 5,000 passengers. At present, the airport remains open and is operating normally until further notice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Haifa Airport is also operating as usual. According to reports from the airport, Air Haifa continues to fly hundreds of Israeli passengers to Larnaca, Mykonos, Paphos, Athens, and other destinations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Earlier, El Al announced that passengers holding tickets for flights scheduled through June 13 would be eligible for a free postponement or a voucher for a future flight.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/conferences\/article-898185\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tourism Ministry<\/a> said it had opened an emergency operations center following a situational assessment led by Director-General Michael Itzhakov.
