When Stacey King<\/a> died, he left behind a wife and four children.<\/p>\n The former Chicago Bull player’s death was announced by the franchise<\/a> on June 7. He was 59 years old. According to ABC7 Chicago<\/a>, a head autopsy will determine the cause of death, amid reports that it was from a fall.<\/p>\n King played for the Bulls from 1989 to 1994, helping the team bring home three NBA championships, per ESPN<\/a> and CBS News<\/a>. After retiring from the sport in 1997, he became a Bulls broadcaster and rose to become one of the most recognizable voices in the franchise, per NBA.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Though the basketball star kept his family life private, he occasionally posted photos of his four sons \u2014 Erick, Garrett, Brandon and Mason \u2014 whom he welcomed during a previous relationship. However, he didn’t share images with his wife, Debi King, whom he married in 2017.<\/p>\n “Being a Dad is the best job in the world!” King captioned a June 2024 Instagram<\/a> post for Father’s Day. “I’m truly blessed to have these wonderful young men as my sons! Erick, Garrett, Brandon and Mason thank you for allowing me so much joy being your dad.”<\/p>\n Here’s everything to know about Stacey King’s family, including his wife and four sons.<\/p>\n King got married in 2017<\/p>\n Though King didn’t reveal he had married, photographer Kenny Kim shared photos from the former professional athlete’s 2017 wedding to Debi.<\/p>\n “Had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Chicago’s beloved icon Mr. Stacey King and his beautiful wife Debi,” Kim wrote in an Instagram<\/a> post at the time. “As most of you guys know, Stacey is a beloved Chicago icon, a terrific Bulls announcer and a three time world champion for the Chicago Bulls. More highlights coming your way!”<\/p>\n Kim posted more photographs on Facebook<\/a> from the ceremony to celebrate the couple’s wedding anniversary in 2019. He jokingly wrote in the post that he was “still scratching” his head as to how King “pulled this off.”<\/p>\n He welcomed four sons Stacey King and his two sons Garrett and Erick in April 2025.
