Some movie stars physically transform themselves for every new role, and some become so synonymous with a certain look that they bend each character to fit their preexisting appearance. Pedro Pascal<\/a> is quickly establishing himself among the latter group, bringing his distinct pencil-thin mustache to roles as varied as post apocalyptic survivors<\/a>, highly eligible bachelors<\/a>, and small town mayors<\/a> \u2014 the only thing that varies is the level of scruff in his beard.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t expect Pascal to go clean-shaven for a role any time soon. In a new appearance in one of LADbible\u2019s \u201cAgree to Disagree\u201d videos<\/a> alongside Vanessa Kirby (via Variety<\/a>), Pascal explained that he remains insecure about his lack of facial hair in \u201cWonder Woman 1984<\/a>.\u201d The actor played Maxwell \u201cMax Lord\u201d Lorenzano, a sleazy businessman that he partially modeled on Michael Douglas\u2019 performance in \u201cWall Street.\u201d The clean-shaven look was appropriate for the character, but Pascal said that he was grateful that he was able to keep his facial hair for his return to comic book movies in this month\u2019s \u201cFantastic Four: First Steps.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off\u2026 I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me,\u201d Pascal said. \u201cI was so appalled by the way I look in \u2018Wonder Woman 1984.\u2019 I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back. Unless it were completely necessary. If they asked me to be clean shaven for \u2018Fantastic Four\u2019 and insisted then I would\u2019ve done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Marvel Studios release, \u201cFantastic Four: First Steps\u201d opens in theaters on Friday, July 25. The film<\/a> will mark the end of what has arguably been the craziest summer of Pascal\u2019s career<\/a>, as he played leading roles in three major films (the others being Celine Song\u2019s \u201cMaterialists\u201d and Ari Aster\u2019s \u201cEddington\u201d).<\/p>\n
