Metro and public radio station KCRW announced Monday a collaboration designed to bring Los Angeles music to transit riders through a series of DJ-curated playlists available on buses and trains throughout the region.<\/p>\n
The program, called \u201cSoundtrips,\u201d features four playlists created by KCRW DJs Novena Carmel, SiLVA, Ale Cohen and Wyldeflower. The playlists are available through QR codes posted throughout the Metro system and online through Metro Art and KCRW.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the region welcomes fans this summer for FIFA World Cup 2026, Metro Art\u2019s unique Soundtrips collaboration with KCRW gives transit riders a local perspective on the global sounds of Los Angeles as they\u2019re traveling through the region,\u201d Metro said in a statement.<\/p>\n
According to Metro, each playlist is intended to reflect a different aspect of Los Angeles\u2019 musical culture and global influences.<\/p>\n
Novena Carmel\u2019s mix focuses on funk, soul and R&B, while SiLVA\u2019s playlist features house, disco and dance music. Ale Cohen\u2019s collection highlights ambient, experimental and modern classical sounds, and Wyldeflower\u2019s playlist draws on global rhythms and local influences.<\/p>\n
\u201cSoundtrips\u201d is the latest offering from Metro Art, the agency\u2019s arts and cultural program, which incorporates visual art, performances and other creative projects throughout the transit system.<\/p>\n
The playlists have been released sequentially, according to the agency.<\/p>\n
