Spreckels Reading Room at the Coronado Public Library. This year\u2019s scholars represent a remarkable range of academic, artistic, and service-oriented accomplishments, continuing the Friends\u2019 long-standing tradition of supporting Coronado students as they pursue higher education and future career goals.<\/p>\n<p>Scholarships were presented by Friends President Carl Luna and Vice President and Scholarship Committee Chair Sharon Hall. Also attending the ceremony were Friends Board Member Cassie Morton and Becky Seaman Geiss, whose family\u2019s longstanding support through the Wilf &amp; Ruth Seaman Scholarship helps make these awards possible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Friends-Scholarship-Awards-Night-2026_Carl-Luna-and-Sharon-Hall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-256317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Friends-Scholarship-Awards-Night-2026_Carl-Luna-and-Sharon-Hall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor generations of Coronado students, the Library has been a place where curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning begin,\u201d said Luna. \u201cWe are honored to support these remarkable students as they pursue their next chapters and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the future.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This year\u2019s Friends of the Coronado Public Library Scholarship recipients include:<\/p>\n<p>The Wilf &amp; currently deciding between the two schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Anika Talavera<\/strong> (Anika was serving on the technical crew for Islander Youth Theatre\u2019s production of The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition at the time of the Friends Awards Night.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Friends scholarship program itself is entering a new chapter of growth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year, the Friends received a legacy-building donation from the Susan Stark Trust that will expand the impact and future reach of the scholarship program for Coronado students. This donation allowed the Friends to add an additional Susan Stark Scholarship for the 2026 school year.
