Micah Parsons had a pretty pointed statement for Jerry Jones after the Cowboys owner took shots at him during a press conference a day earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jones indicated to reporters<\/a> that injuries were playing a part in why the Cowboys and Parsons hadn\u2019t come to terms on a contract extension, and the defensive end said on Tuesday that there hadn\u2019t been \u201cmuch movement\u201d on a deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parsons reported to camp Tuesday and was a limited participant in on-field workouts, going through warmups with the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanna be here, I\u2019ve always said I wanna be here, but at the end of the day, they sign the checks like always. Let\u2019s see if they want me to be here at the end of the day,\u201d Parsons said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When he was asked if being at camp would help his contract negotiations, he seemingly fired back at the Cowboys owner and general manager, Jones.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they got their own timeline on when they want to get things done,\u201d Parsons said in reference to Jones and executive vice president of personnel Stephen Jones.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I don\u2019t think that helps. I\u2019m doing this for myself and my teammates. This isn\u2019t for Jerry, this isn\u2019t for Stephen. \u2026 I can get better by just being here and being here for [my teammates].\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jones expressed optimism that a deal would get done Monday, but not before he seemingly took shots at Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott, both of whom had suffered injuries last year.<\/p>\n

Parsons appeared in 13 games and finished with 12 sacks and 12 tackles for loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJust because we sign him, doesn\u2019t mean we\u2019re going to have him. He was hurt six games last year, seriously,\u201d Jones said on Monday. \u201cI remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year, Dak Prescott, so there\u2019s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does when you\u2019re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments drew the ire of former defensive end J.J. Watt, who posted to social media to chide the Cowboys owner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It also gave Parsons some pause.\u00a0<\/p>\n
