Tom Rhys Harries<\/strong>\u00a0(The Gentlemen) is set to star as the DC character in the upcoming horror movie Clayface<\/strong>, and THR reports<\/a> that Naomi Ackie<\/strong> (Blink Twice) is now also in talks.<\/p>\n

THR notes, \u201cReading sessions took place in England last week with Ackie emerging as the choice. Formal negotiations are due to begin this week, according to several sources.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outlet also reports, \u201cThe project is described as having shades and structure of The Fly,\u201d with David Cronenberg\u2019s 1986 remake being the specific point of comparison here.<\/p>\n

Currently in pre-production,\u00a0Clayface \u2013 described as a \u201ccomplete horror film\u201d \u2013\u00a0is expected to shoot later this summer for a\u00a0September 11, 2026\u00a0<\/strong>theatrical release via Warner Bros.<\/p>\n

James Watkins<\/strong>\u00a0(The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil) will direct from a script by\u00a0Mike Flanagan<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cThe Haunting of Hill House,\u201d Doctor Sleep) and\u00a0Hossein Amini<\/strong>\u00a0(Drive).<\/p>\n

The story centers on an actor who injects himself with a substance to remain relevant, only to find out that he can reshape his face and form, becoming a walking piece of clay.<\/p>\n

James Gunn\u2019s<\/strong> DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran<\/strong>\u00a0previously called\u00a0Clayface\u00a0\u201can incredible body horror film that reveals a compelling origin of a classic Batman villain.\u201d<\/p>\n
